Jay Leno's Replica Mercedes-Benz Race Car Carrier is a Beauty

He also has a 300SL to go with it.
Here at RBM of Atlanta, we're big fans of classic cars of any kind, but especially Mercedes-Benz models, (which should come as no surprise to anyone). Former TV host Jay Leno is famous for his expansive classic car collection, so when we heard that he has a 1950 Mercedes-Benz race-car transporter, we were intrigued.
The cab-forward car hauler was originally used by Mercedes-Benz to haul its race cars from the track back to its factory in Benz, as opposed to making repairs on-site. The hauler used the same 3.0-L straight-six engine as the 300SL racer, so it was capable of speeds up to 100 mph (which is pretty impressive). Unfortunately, Mercedes eventually crushed the hauler, for whatever reason, but then the automaker saw the error of its ways and built a re-creation for its museum in Stuttgart.
Leno's model is a re-creation that originally came to him as an unfinished shell. He put his skills to use to get to the image you see above, and even uses it the way it was intended--to haul his Mercedes-Benz 300SL race car around. That means you won't find one on our lot, but you will find that we have a wide variety of new or used Mercedes-Benz models. Call, contact us online, or stop by and experience them in person at 7640 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA 30350.
